Vom 26. bis 30.07.2022 starten endlich die Red Bull Romaniacs in ihre 19. Ausgabe, die gleichzeitig im Rahmen der FIM Hardenduro Weltmeisterschaft als Wertungslauf fungiert. Wie üblich ist das Städtchen Sibiu im Herzen von Rumänien wieder Herzstück der Romaniacs und den Karpaten.
Prominenz: Neben den üblichen Verdächtigen und den immer wieder gestarteten Versuch mit Reiseenduro im Pol Tarres Stil für medial Aufmerksamkeit zu sorgen steigt dieses Jahr unser deutschsprachiger Dakar-Sieger Matthias Walkner auf einer KTM RR 450 Rally Replica in der Bronze-Klasse in den Ring und versucht Pol Tarres auf seiner Yamaha einzuheizen.
Die 19. Ausgabe hält die höchste Anzahl an verschiedensten internationalen Startern bereit, die allesamt fünf Hardcore Tage in den rumänischen Wäldern erleben wollen. Und dieses Jahr kommt man wieder zurück zu den Wurzeln mit dem klassischen Prolog auf Sibiu’s Straßen….

Und als Schmankerl oben drauf wird zwischen dem zweiten und dritten Fahrtag im Rance-Skir-Resort das Bivouc/Zeltlager aufgeschlagen, um ansclhießen in die neue Region Valcea einzutauchen, das für die Gold-Klasse neues und unbekanntest Terrain darstellt. Und das Urgestein Chris Birch auch Neuseeland wird dieses mal mit einer KTM 500 EXC an den Start gehen und versucht eher mit erhöhtem Fun-Faktor das Event einfach zu genießen. Immerhin war er zwischen 2008 bis 2011 fünfmal auf dem Podium und weiß daher wie der Hase läuft.
Wir werden natürlich jeden Tag möglichst zeitnah – also fast LIVE – berichten und das außergewöhnlichen Event von Anfang bis Ende begleite. Es bleibt also spannend…
From July 26th to 30th, 2022, the Red Bull Romaniacs will finally start its 19th edition, which also serves as a race as part of the FIM Hardenduro World Championship. As usual, the town of Sibiu in the heart of Romania is once again the heart of Romaniacs and the Carpathians.
Celebrities: In addition to the usual suspects and the repeated attempt to attract media attention with a travel enduro in the Pol Tarres style, this year our German-speaking Dakar winner Matthias Walkner climbs into the ring on a KTM RR 450 Rally Replica in the bronze class and tries Pol Tarres on his Yamaha.
The 19th edition has the highest number of different international starters ready, all of whom want to experience five hardcore days in the Romanian forests. And this year it’s going back to basics with the classic prologue on Sibiu’s streets….

And as a treat on top of that, between the second and third day of riding, the bivouc/tent camp will be set up in the Rance-Skir-Resort in order to then dive into the new Valcea region, which represents new and unknown terrain for the Gold class. And the veteran Chris Birch, also from New Zealand, will start this time with a KTM 500 EXC and will try to simply enjoy the event with an increased fun factor. After all, he was on the podium five times between 2008 and 2011 and therefore knows how things work.
Of course, we will report every day as promptly as possible – i.e. almost LIVE – and accompany the extraordinary event from start to finish. So it remains exciting…
