Matthias Walkner, Toby Price und Kevin Benavides von Red Bull KTM Factory Racing sind voller Elan und konzentriert sich auf den Erfolg, während sie sich in der letzte Phase der Vorbereitungen für die Rallye Dakar im Januar befinden. Das Drei-Mann-Team – allesamt ehemalige Sieger der Rallye Dakar – werden im Nahen Osten von dem MotoGP™-Fahrer Danilo Petrucci unterstützt, der bei der Veranstaltung 2022 sein Dakar-Debüt geben wird. Die Rallye Dakar 2022 beginnt am Samstag, dem 1. Januar mit einem kurzen Prolog, um die Startreihenfolge für die erste Etappe festzulegen. Insgesamt besteht die Veranstaltung aus 12 vollständigen Etappen mit einer Distanz von rund 8.000 km. Das Rennen soll in Ha’il beginnen, von wo aus die Fahrer nach Süden racen und am Ruhetag in Riad Halt machen, bevor es am 14. Januar ins Ziel in Jeddah an der Küste des Roten Meeres geht. Auch die Teilnehmer werden sich der Herausforderung von zwei Marathonetappen während der Rallye stellen müssen, bei denen keine fremde Hilfe erlaubt ist.


 

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Matthias Walkner, Toby Price, and Kevin Benavides are fired up and focused on success as they enter the final phase of preparations ahead of January’s Dakar Rally. The three-man team – all former Dakar Rally winners – will be joined in the Middle East by newly retired MotoGP™ rider Danilo Petrucci, who will make his Dakar debut at the 2022 event. The 2022 Dakar Rally will commence on Saturday, January 1, with a short Prologue to decide the start order for stage one. In total, the event consists of 12 full stages, covering a distance of around 8,000km. The race is set to start in Ha’il, from where riders will travel south, stopping at the rest day in Riyadh before heading on to the finish at Jeddah, on the Red Sea coast, on January 14. Competitors will also face the challenge of two marathon stages during the rally, where no outside assistance is allowed.
