The second day to shoot best times into the mountain of iron is now history and the conditions were a lot better than the day before. One can almost speak of partly dry conditions. What initially seems ideal was only an advantage for a few in terms of the times driven.
Enduro World Champion Andrea Verona slammed his KTM 450 EXC-F around the course at the lecture in such a way that he could not beat his fabulous time of 10:26.143 on Saturday. Only Daniel Sanders really threw everything into the balance and improved again today by stealing a remarkable six seconds from the mountain of iron and thus being the fastest of the day, but still ended up in P2 in the overall standings, just over six seconds behind Verona. YouTube star Carson Brown from the USA also let it rip and improved by an insane 21 seconds (!) to P3, pushing Manuel Lettenbichler to P4, who was able to improve by five seconds compared to the previous day.
In the unofficial overall standings, this means 4th place for our German figurehead, which is not a problem, as he will start from the front row on Sunday, which was the specified goal. Edgar Canet (Dakar rider) on his rally bike moved up to eighth place, followed by Chris Gundermann on P9, who was unable to improve on the second day of riding. Englishman Jonny Walker has put his 450cc triumph to the test again and has moved up from P19 to P11. But Sebastian Tortelli (Team Principal Stark) on his Stark Varg was able to place ahead of him on P10.
The best electric car was the Stark works driver David Herbreteau with P6. Trystan Hart (KTM factory rider/USA), who is considered Lettenbichler’s strongest rival at the finale, only makes it to P14 and will therefore have a slight disadvantage at the start. The 15th place of our German junior rider Lenny Geretzky is sensational, relegating the hard enduro veteran Dieter Rudolf to P16. US superstar Cody Webb places on P34 with his YZF250X and will have to plough through the field tomorrow to be able to catch up with the leaders. The GOAT Graham Jarvis secures P63, which is less important to him, as we know from the past. He has already ploughed brutally through the field several times coming from behind, so that anything seems possible for him – maybe even the podium? You never know…

It’s on Sunday, because that’s when the specialists get to work. Experience has shown that the fastest riders in the field, who are more at home in classic enduro sport, will not play a decisive role in the fight for victory on Sunday. But the hardenduro underdogs, who start from the back of the field, could start an ultra interesting catch-up race. So it will be extremely exciting and you can watch the live broadcast of the final on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. here at BABOONS.
