The Savannah Way. A 3,700km run from Cairns to Broome and at its heart, the brutal gravel crossing of the Gulf of Carpentaria. A million corrugations, hundreds of kms between fuel, and wildlife that’ll eat ya for supper. Few Aussies ever see this country and Off Grid is driving right through the guts of it. Graham teams up with Jade and Cody from the Hunter Valley, with a BT-50 and Harvok campers in tow. The mission: follow the Savannah Way from the mining town of Mt Isa, across the Gulf and into the Northern Territory, all the way to Mataranka. But nearly 2,000km of washouts, creek beds and corrugations takes its toll. Saltwater crocs get closer than anyone would like. And with well over 300km between fuel stops, Out here there’s no such thing as an easy kilometre.
