Am 27. Mai ratifizierte der stellvertretende Ministerpräsident der Russischen Föderation, DN Tchernychenko, auf Empfehlung des russischen Sportministeriums und des russischen Automobilverbandes die Entscheidung, die zehnte Ausgabe der Rallye abzusagen, die vom 2. bis 11. Juli stattfinden sollte.
Da die Gesundheit der Teilnehmer und der Öffentlichkeit oberste Priorität hat, so dass Entscheidung der Absage nach einer eingehenden Untersuchung der Situation und zahlreichen Konsultationen mit allen betroffenen Behörden getroffen wurde.
Trotz der enormen Vorbereitungen der Organisationsteams sind die Organisatoren immer noch mit zahlreichen Unsicherheiten hinsichtlich Grenzüberschreitungen, Flugverkehrsbeschränkungen und anderen verschiedenen Quarantänemaßnahmen konfrontiert, die in Russland für ausländische Staatsbürger gelten.
Sowohl eine Runde der FIM-Cross-Country-Rallyes-Weltmeisterschaft als auch der FIA-Weltcup für Cross-Country-Rallyes im Rahmen der zehnte Ausgabe der Silk Way Rallye, die in acht Etappen von Moskau nach Kasan hätte führen sollen, wird daher abgesagt.
Bereits nächste Woche wird sich das Organisationskomitee treffen, um mit der Vorbereitung der Silk Way Rallye 2021 zu beginnen.

Die weltweite Situation ist immer noch sehr sensibel und wir müssen uns in den meisten Teilen Russlands mit Quarantänemaßnahmen befassen. Mit diesen Unsicherheiten sind wir nicht in der Lage, die Vorbereitungsarbeiten abzuschließen und dann die Veranstaltung zu organisieren.
Nächste Woche werden wir diese erzwungene Pause nutzen, um mit so viel Enthusiasmus wie immer die Organisation der nächsten Ausgabe zu beginnen, die wie immer sehr aufregend sein wird. “
DIE SILK WAY RALLYE IN WENIGEN WORTEN
DIE SILK WAY RALLY, ist eine Veranstaltung im Rahmen der FIM Cross-Country Rallies-Weltmeisterschaft und der FIA Cross-Country Rallies-Weltmeisterschaft.
Die SILK WAY RALLY, deren erste Ausgabe 2009 Russland mit Turkmenistan verband, hätte 2020 ihr 10-jähriges Bestehen feiern sollen.
Die SILK WAY RALLY wurde von den großen Teams und den am besten ausgestatteten Champions dieser Sportdisziplin, aber auch von vielen Amateuren begehrt und von einigen beeindruckenden Namen gewonnen: CARLOS SAINZ, CYRIL DESPRES, YAZEED AL RAJHI und NASSER AL ATTIYAH, der 2019 das einzigartige Kunststück geschafft hat alle 9 Etappen zu gewinnen.
In der Kategorie Lkw ist es das KAMAZ MASTER TEAM mit DMITRY SOTNIKOV, EDUARD NIKOLAEV, AYRAT MARDEEV, ANTON SHIBALOV, ANDREY KARGINOV und FIRDAUS KABIROV, die seit 2009 die Siege teilen. Die Vormachtstellung wurde 2011 von TATRA TEAM und seinem Piloten ALES LOP vereitelt.
2019 gewann SAM SUNDERLAND (KTM) als erster Fahrer der Kategorie Motorrad bei der SILK WAY RALLY und gewann gleichzeitig die zweite Runde der FIM Cross-Country Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft.

On 27 May, following the recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Sport and the Russian Automotive Federation, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, D.N. Tchernychenko, ratified the decision to cancel the rally’s tenth edition that should be run from July 2 to 11, 2020
The health of the participants and the public being the absolute priority, the Race Direction understands this decision, taken after an in-depth study of the situation and numerous consultations with all the authorities concerned.
Despite the huge amount of preparation undertaken by the organisation teams, the organisers are still confronted by numerous uncertainties concerning crossing borders, air traffic restrictions and other different quarantine measures still in force in Russia for foreign citizens.
Both a round of the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship and the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, the tenth edition of the Silk Way Rally, that should have run from Moscow to Kazan in 8 stages, is therefore cancelled.
As early as next week the organisation committee will meet to start work on preparing the 2021 edition of the Silk Way Rally.

The worldwide situation is still very sensitive and we have to deal with quarantine measures in most parts of Russia. With those uncertainties, we are not able to finish preparation work, and then organize the event.
Next week we will take advantage of this enforced break to start, with as much enthusiasm as always, the organisation of the next edition, that will be as exciting and thrilling as ever.”
