Mixed weather greeted competitors on Day Three of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) in Zschopau, Germany, with the United States mastering the mud to control their advantage in the Vintage Veterans Trophy classification.

Despite the rain, the United States showed no sign of slowing down on Day Three at the FIM EVT, powering ahead to extend their race lead to over one-minute-and-thirteen-seconds. With just the Day Four Final Cross Test remaining, they now have a virtual grasp on winning the Vintage Veterans Trophy.

Although holding onto second overall, it was an eventful day for Austria. Team member Christian Kaiser (Puch-Frigerio) suffered a serious mechanical issue on arrival at the end-of-day service, but was able to solve the issue in time.

“Racing-wise, we did a good job today in the rain,” said Kaiser. “We are all riding well and posting good times. But on arrival at the work service my engine stopped completely.

“I got lucky where it happened because I could push my bike to the work area and replace the bolt that caused it to stop. We are still in the race; I hope we can reach the podium tomorrow.”

Italy end Day Three third overall and look favourites to claim the final step of the podium. Germany worked their way back up to fourth overall, with the Czech Republic rounding out the top five.

The United States’ Fred Hoess (Husqvarna) was once again the rider to beat in the Vintage Veterans Trophy individual classification, winning Day Three by twenty-three seconds. Behind him, the battle for second was almost a dead-heat between Italy’s Tullio Pellegrinelli (Puch-Frigerio) and Germany’s Uwe Weber (MZ), with Pellegrinelli claiming the runner-up result by two-tenths of a second.

Vintage Silver Vase Italia continue to lead the way in the Vintage Silver Vase classification after three days of racing. Entering tomorrow’s Final Cross Test, they hold a sizeable one-minute-and-fifty-second advantage over Silver Vase 17 Kramer Werkxx in second.

MC Simpson Suhl lie third overall and will aim to secure the final step of the podium tomorrow. MC Scuderia Norelli and Silver Vase Germany 1 round out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Another superb ride from Italy’s Giuseppe Gallino (Puch) saw him win the Vintage Silver Vase individual classification for the second day in a row. In the race for second position, Germany’s Manuel Rüger (Kramer) edged out Italy’s Andrea Rastrelli (MZ) by just eleven seconds to finish as runner-up.

The Vintage Club Team classification saw no change to the top of the leaderboard on Day Three in Zschopau, with Tagliamento 1 continuing to lead. The Italians put the hurt on their rivals, extending their advantage out to over four minutes with just tomorrow’s Final Cross Test remaining.

Club Team Germany 12 remain second overall with one day of racing left. Club Team Germany 2 were pushing hard today and moved from fifth to third in the overall standings. However, with U.S. Leonessa D’Italia 1903 just thirty-three seconds behind them in fourth, the battle for the final step of the podium is set to go down to the wire. MSC Mauer complete the overall top five ahead of Day Four.

Italy’s Mario Graziani (Maico) was on top form today, taking the win in the Vintage Club Team individual classification. Following his victory yesterday, Germany’s Marcel Triebel (KTM) had to be content with placing as runner-up today. The United States’ Johnny Barber (Husqvarna) put in a solid ride to finish third.

Day Three of the FIM EVT resulted in Poland’s Michal Korpas (Honda) claiming victory in the Vintage Individual standings. Finishing eighteen seconds behind him, Great Britain’s Alex Pringle (Husqvarna) took second. As winner of the opening two days, Spain’s Francesc Puey (Suzuki) slipped to third on Day Three.

After what has so far proved to be an exciting week of racing, the 2026 FIM EVT in Zschopau concludes with tomorrow’s Final Cross Test.
