Rain, slick rock, and two of Moab’s most iconic trails. Wednesday and Thursday at Easter Jeep Safari is where things started getting interesting. Wednesday we hit Poison Spider, with a little rain rolling through—not enough to stop us, but just enough to change the lines and make everything feel a bit more technical. Slick rock in Moab hits different when it’s wet, but we ran it anyway. Poison Spider is one of those classic Moab trails—long loop, unreal views over the valley and Colorado River, plus petroglyphs and even dinosaur tracks out there. We didn’t come to hike though—we came to wheel. Thursday we headed out to Top of the World, about 30 miles outside of Moab. Not a quick trail, but the payoff at the top is worth it. You’re sitting on a massive overlook with views out over Fisher Valley and the La Sal Mountains. Also had Alter Ego out at its first EJS with us, and the Comanche on its first real wheeling trip. No easing into it—just straight into Moab doing what it does. A little rain just made it more interesting. Already counting down till we’re back in Moab!
