Jock McDonald and Off Road Animal’s Dave build a brand new N90 dual cab for the Old Telegraph Track. Bull bar, winch, rock sliders, snorkel and touring tray racks, every mod explained. Most blokes baby a brand new 4WD. Not Dave. He’s a mechanical engineer who takes modern rigs and finds out exactly what they’re made of. This time he’s pointed that at one of Australia’s best-selling dual cabs. Jock McDonald brings fifteen years of hands-on experience to the build, and together they work through every decision: the bull bar and brush bar up front, the winch that has to earn its mounting, rock sliders that’ll take the hit on the Old Telegraph Track, the snorkel for the deep stuff, plus the mechanical and touring mods that turn a showroom ute into a Cape-ready weapon. Dave talks through the engineering reasoning behind all of it. This isn’t bolt-on-and-hope. The only question left is whether it holds up when the track starts fighting back… and we’re not spoiling that here.
