At the penultimate event of the season, Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) was once again crowned ADAC MX Masters champion. Three second places behind three-time race winner Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) were enough for the Dutchman to defend his title in Vellahn. Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) finished the event in third place.
Van de Moosdijk with focus on the title
Roan van de Moosdijk arrived in Vellahn with a comfortable 70 point lead and was concentrating on winning the championship early. After a commanding second place in Saturday’s race, he only crossed the Red Bull holeshot line in the middle of the field in the second race on Sunday. The Dutchman consistently worked his way forward and pushed Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) out of second place at the beginning of the final third of the race. In the third run, van de Moosdijk was already back in second place behind Talviku on the second lap and kept the pressure on the leader for a long time before he stopped taking any risks in the final phase. The three second places were enough for van de Moosdijk to secure the championship.
‚After a good start in the third run, I mainly concentrated on not making any stupid mistakes. I’m very happy and the pressure is now off. I’m looking forward to a great season finale in Fürstlich Drehna, where I want to give it my all again,‘ celebrated van de Moosdijk.
Talviku shines with the maximum points
It was Jörgen-Matthias Talviku’s weekend. The Estonian started the weekend with the best training time as Acerbis Best Qualifier. He converted the pole position into a start-to-finish victory in the first race, his first race win ever in the series. The challenging mixed-surface course of the MC Vellahn must have suited Talviku very much, because he repeated the feat in the two Sunday races, each of which he won with a start-to-finish victory. With this perfect record he became the clear winner, the fourth event winner of the season.
‚Who would have expected such a perfect result? But when I first looked at the track on Friday, I really liked it. My bike was very good from the start and I had a lot of fun riding it. My three holeshots made my life easier and I was able to ride consistently fast and my fitness is also at a good level. I can’t thank my team and supporters enough for making this possible for me,‘ beamed Talviku about his ADAC MX Masters victory debut.
Haavisto back on the podium
After a mixed weekend in Gaildorf, Jere Haavisto returned to the podium in the first race in Vellahn after working his way past Noah Ludwig and Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team). After a bad start in the second race, the Finn steadily moved up from 25th place. After ten laps he pushed Koch out of fourth place, where he crossed the finish line. In the third run, Haavisto got off to a better start and was already in fourth place after the second lap. After the first third of the race, he took third place from Markuss Kokins (LAT/Team BuyMX Yamaha), which he brought to the finish safely ahead of Koch and Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing by DVAG). He finished the event in Vellahn in third place ahead of Koch and Ludwig.
‚I’m very happy to be on the podium again. The second run was very difficult after my botched start and I had to overtake a lot of drivers, which wasn’t easy here,‘ said Haavisto happily.
In the championship, Koch remains in second place behind van de Moosdijk. Talviku moved into third position ahead of Haavisto. Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) was injured in the first race on Saturday and will be out for the rest of the season, dropping him to fifth place in the table.
