Richtig gehört und auch die Spatzen pfeifen es schon von den Dächern, dass unsere Top-Hoffnung für die Hardenduro-Weltmeisterschaft beim legendäre Red Bull Romaniacs wieder am Start steht. Natürlich mit der Startnummer #1, so wie es für den Champion des vergangenen Jahres und den vierfachen Romaniacs-Gewinner gehört. Lettis Knieverletzung scheint soweit verheilt zu sein. Ob sie schon wieder eine Belastung von 100 Prozent verträgt wird sich über die fünf Renntag zeigen. Immerhin sind die Red Bull Romaniacs kein Zuckerschlecken, auch wenn man ein Full-Time Profi wie Manuel Lettenbichler ist. Wir drücken ihm die Daumen für eine geniale Veranstaltung sowie den Erfolg, der er derzeit körperlich umsetzen kann.

- 24.07.2024 – PROLOG – die 35 schnellsten Fahrer der Quali treten in einem Mehrrunden-Fight gegeneinander für den Titel „Prolog-Champion“ an.
- 25.07.2024 – OFFROAD Day 1
- 26.07.2024 – OFFROAD Day 2 – Marathon Etappe mit Übernachtung in Râmnicu Vâlcea. Erlaubt ist nur das Wechseln von Mousse und Reifen an SP 2 und 3, während die Fahrer selbst den restlichen Service an ihren Enduros durchführen müssen

- 28.07.2024 – OFFROAD Day 4
Mittlerweile handelt es sich um die 21. Ausgabe der Red Bull Romaniacs und es stehen über 750 Fahrer aus 64 Nationen am Start. Darunter auch diverse Deutsche Hoffnungsträger in verschiedenen Klassen, die größtenteils nicht Teil der Hardenduro-Weltmeisterschaft sind, sondern nur am Event Red Bull Romaniacs teilnehmen.

Zudem sind wieder die Zweizylinder-Protagonisten Pol Tarrés aus Spanien in der Silber-Klasse und Kevin Gallas in der Bronze-Klasse am Start und schmeißen ihre fast 200 Kilogramm schweren Yamaha Ténéré 700 den Hang hinauf. Die Hardenduro-Legende Chris Birch ist ebenfalls am Start, aber diesem Mal nicht mit einer KTM Adventure, sondern eine ganz normalen KTM 300 EXC.
FIM Hardenduro Weltmeisterschaft
Traditionsgemäß beginnen die Rennen am Dienstag, 23. Juli, mit der Prolog-Qualifikation. Nachdem sich die Fahrer durch ein wieder einmal unglaublich abwechslungsreiches Streckendesign gekämpft haben, heißt es vier Offroad-Tage in den Bergen samt Marathon-Etappe.
Marathon-Etappe: Ohne fremde Hilfe absolvieren die Fahrer den Offroad-Tag 2 in Râmnicu Vâlcea, etwa 200 Kilometer von der Gastgeberstadt Sibiu entfernt.
Young geht in Runde vier auf Titeljagd
Der Sieger der dritten Runde, Wade Young von Red Bull Leader Tread, kommt als neuer Meisterschaftsführender nach Sibiu. Young hat einen Vorsprung von zwei Punkten vor Mario Roman von Sherco Factory Racing, der wiederum einen Vorsprung von zwei Punkten auf Manuel Lettenbichler von Red Bull KTM Factory Racing hat. Da in dieser Halbzeit der Saison nur vier Punkte zwischen den ersten drei liegen, geht es in der vierten Runde hier bei den Red Bull Romaniacs wirklich um alles.
Nachdem er in der dritten Runde einen Sieg errungen hatte und in Rumänien stets eine extrem starke Leistung zeigte, wird Young sicherlich daran anknüpfen wollen. Bisher stand Roman in diesem Jahr bei jeder Runde auf dem Podium und war äußerst konstant, konnte aber noch keinen Sieg erringen. Er weiß, dass er bei den Red Bull Romaniacs härter denn je für das oberste Treppchen auf dem Podium kämpfen muss, wenn er als aktueller Titelanwärter wirklich erst machen will.
Titelverteidiger Lettenbichler ist wieder im Einsatz, nachdem er die dritte Runde aufgrund einer Knieverletzung verpasst hatte. Der Fitnessstand des Deutschen ist aktuell unbekannt, da er viele Wochen lang nicht auf seiner KTM saß. Aber sein Siegeswille und seine Liebe zu den rumänischen Bergen stehen außer Frage, sodass Lettenbichler trotz Verletzungspause nicht unterschätzt werden sollte.
Der Bulgare Teodor Kabakchiev (Sherco) liegt in der Meisterschaftsjagd auf dem vierten Gesamtrang, fünf Punkte hinter Lettenbichler. Der Sherco-Fahrer ist immer noch drauf und dran, seinen ersten Sieg in der FIM Hardenduro-Weltmeisterschaft einzufahren. In der vierten Runde könnte er als erster Bulgare Geschichte schreiben, der ganz oben auf dem FIM Hardenduro-Podium steht. Ob es gelingt?
Die Top 5 der Gesamtwertung komplettiert Mitch Brightmore von der TTR Squadra Corse. Der junge Brite hat bisher eine solide Saison hinter sich gebracht. Brightmore schnitt in der dritten Runde unter ähnlichen Bedingungen gut ab und sammelt immer mehr Erfahrung. Er hofft natürlich noch näher an die vier führenden Fahrer heranzukommen.
Francesc Moret (Sherco) und Matthew Green (KTM) liegen auf den Plätzen sechs und sieben punktgleich.
Brightmore will den Punktevorsprung der Junioren ausbauen
In der von KLIM unterstützten FIM Hardenduro Junior World Championship bleibt Mitch Brightmore mit drei Siegen bei drei Starts bisher ungeschlagen. In der dritten Runde sah sich Mitch einer großen Herausforderung durch den Südafrikaner James Moore (GASGAS) gegenüber, wobei der Fahrer von Rigo Racing bis zum letzten Tag in Führung lag. Moore werden versuchen, erneut zu beeindrucken.
Mitchs Bruder Ashton liegt in der Gesamtwertung auf dem zweiten Platz. Der junge Brite, der sein Debüt bei den Red Bull Romaniacs gibt, steht vor einer anspruchsvollen Woche und muss sein ganzes Können und seine Entschlossenheit aufbringen, um unbeschadet die Ziellinie zu erreichen.
Richard Moorhouse von Beta UK belegt den dritten Gesamtrang vor Robert Crayston von Triple D Motosport KTM. Dank seines zweiten Platzes beim letzten Mal komplettiert Moore die Top Fünf in der Juniorenwertung.

You heard right and the sparrows are already whistling from the rooftops that our top hope for the Hard Enduro World Championship is back at the start at the legendary Red Bull Romaniacs. Of course with start number #1, as befits last year’s champion and four-time Romaniacs winner. Letti’s knee injury appears to have healed so far. Whether she can handle 100 percent stress again will be seen over the five days of racing. After all, the Red Bull Romaniacs are no picnic, even if you are a full-time professional like Manuel Lettenbichler. We keep our fingers crossed for him for a brilliant event and the success that he can currently achieve physically.

It is now the 21st edition of the Red Bull Romaniacs and there are over 750 riders from 64 nations at the start. Including various German hopefuls in various classes, most of whom are not part of the Hard Enduro World Championship, but only take part in the Red Bull Romaniacs event.

FIM Hardenduro World Championship
Traditionally, the races begin on Tuesday, July 23rd with the prologue qualification. After the drivers have fought their way through what is once again an incredibly varied route design, it’s time for four off-road days in the mountains, including a marathon stage.
Marathon stage: Without any outside help, riders complete off-road day 2 in Râmnicu Vâlcea, approximately 200 kilometers from the host city of Sibiu.
Young goes in the hunt for the title in round four
Round three winner, Wade Young of Red Bull Leader Tread, arrives in Sibiu as the new championship leader. Young has a two-point lead over Sherco Factory Racing’s Mario Roman, who in turn has a two-point lead over Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler. With only four points separating the top three at this half-time of the season, the fourth round really is all-or-nothing here at Red Bull Romaniacs.
After picking up a win in the third round and putting in an extremely strong performance in Romania, Young will certainly want to build on that. So far this year, Roman has been on the podium at every round and has been extremely consistent, but has yet to take a win. He knows that he has to fight harder than ever for the top step on the podium at the Red Bull Romaniacs if he really wants to make it as a current title contender.
Defending champion Lettenbichler is back in action after missing the third round due to a knee injury. The German’s fitness level is currently unknown as he has not been on his KTM for many weeks. But his will to win and his love for the Romanian mountains are beyond question, so Lettenbichler should not be underestimated despite his injury layoff.
Bulgarian Teodor Kabakchiev (Sherco) sits fourth overall in the championship hunt, five points behind Lettenbichler. The Sherco rider is still looking to take his first win in the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. In the fourth round he could make history as the first Bulgarian to reach the top of the FIM Hardenduro podium. Will it succeed?
Completing the top 5 overall rankings is Mitch Brightmore from TTR Squadra Corse. The young Brit has had a solid season so far. Brightmore performed well in the third round in similar conditions and continues to gain experience. Of course he hopes to get even closer to the four leading drivers.
Francesc Moret (Sherco) and Matthew Green (KTM) are tied for sixth and seventh place.
Brightmore wants to extend the juniors’ points lead
In the KLIM-supported FIM Hardenduro Junior World Championship, Mitch Brightmore remains undefeated with three wins in three starts. On the third lap, Mitch faced a big challenge from South African James Moore (GASGAS), with the Rigo Racing driver leading until the final day. Moore will be looking to impress again.
Mitch’s brother Ashton is in second place overall. The young Brit, making his Red Bull Romaniacs debut, faces a challenging week and will have to use all his skills and determination to reach the finish line unscathed.
Beta UK’s Richard Moorhouse takes third place overall ahead of Triple D Motosport KTM’s Robert Crayston. Thanks to his second place last time, Moore completes the top five in the junior rankings.
