Das TEAM HONDA HRC sichert sich durch den fulminanten 3-fach Sieg von Ken Roczen in Glendale nicht nur das notwendige Selbstvertrauen für die kommenden Rennen, sondern holt sich damti auch die klare Tabellenführung vor Eli Tomac mit einem Vorsprung von acht Punkten und 12 auf Justin Barcia. Sein mentaler Konkurrent aus 2019 Cooper Webb belegt aktuelle Gesamtrang 5 mit insgesamt 23 Punkten Rückstand und stellt aktuell keine nennenswerte Gefahr dar. Doch die Saison ist noch verdammt lang und bis jetzt hat man erst 4 von 17 Rennen absolviert.
Mit dieser Erfolgspur dürfte der Mattstedter Jung sein altes ICH zurück haben und wir dürfen gespannt sein, was die nächsten Rennen bringen, so lange man nicht wie in Anaheim 2 das Fahrwerk verwachst. Das scheint man aber aktuell absolut im Griff zu haben, betrachtet man Ken’s Flow im Renntempo. Da kommt kein Zweifel auf, dass hier etwas nicht passen könnte und es scheint alles wie aus einem Guss!

„Ich kann nicht glauben, dass wir alle drei Rennen gewonnen haben! Ich denke unsere starke Fokusierung ist das Mittel zum Zweck. Zwischen meinem Team und vor allem meinem Mechaniker haben wir einfach ein perfektes Zusammenspiel für jedes Rennen. Jedes Mal sobald wir zum Start rollen, um einen Gate Drop zu machen, möchte ich mich auf das Wesentliche konzentrieren, mich in eine gute Position bringen und dadurch das Leben viel einfacher und sicherer machen. Wir hatten einige gute Kämpfe mit Eli [Tomac] im ersten Rennen, aber ich war begeistert davon, das ich davon ziehen konnte. Ich hatte einen ziemlich guten Start im zweiten Rennen und dann mussten wir leider einen Neustart durchführen. Ich habe mir dann den Holeshot geholt und bin ein super-solides Rennen gefahren und habe gewonnen. Der erste Start für das dritte Rennen war nicht gut und ich und Tomac kämpften um den achten Platz oder so. Dann hatten wir einen weiteren Neustart und ich habe dort erneut den Holeshot geholt und bin einfach nochmal ein super-solides Rennen gefahren. Ich hatte heute Abend eine gute Zeit und bin sehr zufrieden damit wie gut das Team war und welche Änderungen am Motorrad vorgenommen wurden. Wir haben sehr gut zusammengearbeitet und der Teamgeist ist derzeit hoch wie nie. Ehrlich gesagt bin ich überglücklich und genieße den Sieg, aber anschließend geht’s wieder zur Arbeit, um micht wieder zu 100% auf das nächste Rennen zu fokussieren.“

With the brilliant triple victory of Ken Roczen in Glendale, the TEAM HONDA HRC not only secures the necessary self-confidence for the upcoming races, but also takes the clear lead in the table ahead of Eli Tomac with an advantage of eight points and 12 over Justin Barcia. His mental competitor from 2019 Cooper Webb is currently in 5th overall with a total of 23 points behind and is currently no significant danger. But the season is still damn long and so far only 4 out of 17 races have been completed.
With this track to success, the Mattstedter young gun should have his old self back and we can be curious about what the next races will bring, as long as they don’t wax the suspension as in Anaheim 2. That seems to be under control right now, if you look at Ken’s Flow at racing pace. There is no doubt that something might not fit here and everything seems to be seamless!
KEN ROCZEN’s statement
“I can’t believe we won all three main events! I think it’s the focus that we bring. Between my team and especially my mechanic, we just have a good regimen going into all the races. Every time we go down there for a gate drop, I just want to put maximum focus, put myself in a good position and make life a lot easier—and safer as well. We had some good battles with Eli [Tomac] in the first one, but I was stoked to pull it off. I got a decent start in the second one, and then we had to do a restart unfortunately. I grabbed that holeshot and rode a super-solid race and won. The first start for race three was not good, and me and Tomac were battling in like eighth or something. Then we had another restart, and I pulled the holeshot there and just rode a super-solid race. I had a good time tonight, and I’m really happy with how the team has been excelling and making changes to the bike. We’ve been working really well together, and the team spirit is high right now. Obviously, I’m beyond stoked and want to enjoy tonight and tomorrow, but then get back to work and keep 100% focus.”
