Sieg Nummer 1 am Freitag, Sieg Nummer 2 am Samstag und um den Hattrick perfekt zu machen, Sieg Nummer 3 am Sonntag. So hatte sich das Manuel Lettenbichler gewünscht und genau so ist es auch eingetreten. Was für eine Vorstellung des Bayern auf seiner 300er KTM während des ganzen Wochenendes in der Walters Arena. Gut, Billy Bolt war nicht am Start, wodurch eine der stärksten Gegner fehlte, aber die restliche Konkurrenz machte es nicht unbedingt einfacher.
Nach zwei Tagen Vorgeplänkel ging es endlich am Sonntag Nachmittag in das große Finale über drei Runden, um den Champion des ersten Valleys Hardenduro im Rahmen der 2024er Hardenduro-Saison zu bestimmen.

Als Titelverteidiger und Sieger der Rennen am Freitag und Samstag war Manuel Lettenbichler von Red Bull KTM Factory Racing der absolute Favorit auf den Sieg am Sonntag. Und er hat nicht enttäuscht. Der KTM-Fahrer startet flott ins Rennen, arbeitete sich zügig an die Spitze vor und wurde in seiner Führungsposition von Niemanden mehr in Bedrängnis gebracht – unglaublich.
Trotz der außergewöhnlich heißen und staubigen Bedingungen – normalerweise ist in diesem Teil des Landes Nebel, Feuchtigkeit und Regen Programm – fand Lettenbichler seinen Rhythmus und fuhr einen guten Vorsprung heraus. Ein Angriff von Teodor Kabakchiev von Sherco Factory Racing in der Mitte des Rennens sorgte dafür, dass sich dieser Abstand minimal verringerte. Doch zu Beginn der dritten und letzten Runde erhöhte Manuel sein Tempo und sicherte sich einen souveränen Vorsprung von drei Minuten auf die Konkurrenz und siegte.
Hinter Manuel verlief der Kampf um die restlichen Podiumsplätze extrem spannend. Zunächst war es Jonny Walker von Red Bull Beta, der in der ersten Runde den zweiten Platz belegte. Aber das Sherco-Duo Kabakchiev und Mario Roman kam unaufhaltsam näher und überholte den Briten.
Kabakchiev hinterließ bei den technischen Anstiegen einen auffällig starken Eindruck und hatte keinerlei Probleme mit der Hitze. In der zweiten Runde schien der Bulgare Lettenbichler ins Visier genommen zu haben, konnte aber die Lücke nicht schließen, was er für ein mögliches Überholmanöver unbedingt brauchte. Er fuhr jedoch gegenüber seinem Teamkollegen Roman einen ordentlichen Abstand heraus und konnte sich den zweien Platz sichern. Auf diesen Mann sollte man aufpassen, denn er könnte in nicht allzu ferner Zeit auch einen Letti massiv bedrängen.

Als er auf Platz drei lag, konnte Roman das Tempo seines Teamkollegen nicht mehr mithalten. Der Spanier schaffte es mit einem komfortablen Vorsprung auf Walker als Dritter ins Ziel.
Nach einem soliden Start verpasste Walker als Vierter nur knapp das Podium, während Will Hoare die Top Fünf komplettierte. Wade Young von Red Bull Leader Tread wurde Sechster und meldet sich damit wieder zurück.
In der von KLIM unterstützten FIM Hardenduro Junior World Championship war es Titelverteidiger Mitch Brightmore, der für TTR Squadra Corse den Sieg holte. Der Brite wurde von seinem jüngeren Bruder Ashton stetig begleiten, der dann den achten Platz sicherte.
Für die nächsten Runde geht es am 30.05.2024 zum legendären Red Bull Erzbergrodeo nach Österreich.
Manuel Lettenbichler: „Es war nicht einfach da draußen. Das Tempo war extrem hoch und die Intensität heftig. Es war schwierig, einen Rhythmus zu finden, aber es hat geholfen, einen Vorsprung herauszufahren. In der letzten Runde kam Teodor jedoch immer näher und ich musste wieder Gas geben. Es ist großartig in der ersten WM-Runde gleich den Sieg zu holen und in die Meisterschaft so stark zu starten. Ich bin wirklich glücklich und freue mich nun auf die nächste Runde beim Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in zwei Wochen.“

Win number 1 on Friday, win number 2 on Saturday and to complete the hat trick, win number 3 on Sunday. That’s what Manuel Lettenbichler wanted and that’s exactly how it happened. What a performance from Bayern on his 300cc KTM throughout the weekend in the Walters Arena. Well, Billy Bolt wasn’t there, which meant one of the strongest opponents was missing, but the rest of the competition didn’t necessarily make it any easier.
After two days of preliminary skirmishes, the grand finale over three rounds finally took place on Sunday afternoon to determine the champion of the first Valleys Hardenduro as part of the 2024 Hardenduro season.

As defending champion and winner of the races on Friday and Saturday, Manuel Lettenbichler from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing was the absolute favorite to win on Sunday. And he didn’t disappoint. The KTM rider started the race quickly, quickly worked his way to the front and was no longer in trouble in his leading position – unbelievable.
Despite the exceptionally hot and dusty conditions – fog, humidity and rain are usually the order of the day in this part of the country – Lettenbichler found his rhythm and built a good lead. A mid-race attack from Sherco Factory Racing’s Teodor Kabakchiev ensured that this gap narrowed slightly. But at the beginning of the third and final lap, Manuel increased his pace and secured a commanding lead of three minutes over the competition and won.
Behind Manuel, the battle for the remaining podium places was extremely exciting. First, it was Red Bull Beta’s Jonny Walker who took second place on the first lap. But the Sherco duo Kabakchiev and Mario Roman came inexorably closer and overtook the Briton.
Kabakchiev made a strikingly strong impression on the technical climbs and had no problems with the heat. On the second lap, the Bulgarian seemed to have Lettenbichler in his sights, but was unable to close the gap, which he desperately needed for a possible overtaking maneuver. However, he gained a decent gap over his teammate Roman and was able to secure second place. You should watch out for this man, because he could put a lot of pressure on a Letti in the not too distant future.

When he was in third place, Roman could no longer keep up with his teammate’s pace. The Spaniard crossed the finish line in third place with a comfortable lead over Walker.
After a solid start, Walker narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth place, while Will Hoare rounded out the top five. Wade Young from Red Bull Leader Tread finished sixth and is back again.
In the KLIM supported FIM Hardenduro Junior World Championship it was defending champion Mitch Brightmore who took victory for TTR Squadra Corse. The Brit was constantly accompanied by his younger brother Ashton, who then secured eighth place.
For the next round we’re going to the legendary Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in Austria on May 30, 2024.
Manuel Lettenbichler: “It wasn’t easy out there. The pace was extremely high and the intensity intense. It was difficult to find a rhythm, but it helped to gain a lead. On the last lap, however, Teodor got closer and closer and I had to accelerate again. It’s great to win the first round of the World Cup and start the championship so strongly. I’m really happy and am now looking forward to the next round at the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in two weeks.”
