Am Samstag, den 2. April, startete in der ungarischen Stadt Tamasi der erste der beiden Fahrtage, an denen die zweite ELEVEIT-Runde der Borilli Enduro European Championship 2022 abgehalten wurde. Heftige Kälte und ein bitterer Wind ließen den Boden durch die enormen Wassermengen, die in den Tagen von Donnerstag und Freitag fielen, enorm aufweiche. Das auf die Strecke geschüttete Wasser hat zahlreiche Wege und einige Sektoren von Wertungsprüfungen unpassierbar gemacht; Dies hat einige Änderungen und Kürzungen erforderlich gemacht, um eine sichere Strecke zu schaffen. Am Sonntag, dem 3. April, fand der zweite und letzte Tag der ELEVEIT-Runde statt, der von besonderen Wetterbedingungen geprägt war, denn der Schnee, der in den frühen Morgenstunden fiel, erschwerte die Veranstaltung erheblich. Der zweite Tag der ungarischen Borilli Enduro European Championship 2022 ging über 3 Runden; Die Strecke wurde wegen des Schnees, der in den frühen Morgenstunden fiel, verkürzt und immer aus dem gleichen Grund wurde der letzte Eleveit-Enduro-Test abgesagt. Ein schöner, aber schwieriger Renntag, an dem Dietger Damiaens triumphierte, nachdem er sich an Tag 1 auf der untersten Stufe des Podiums platziert hatte und die Gesamtwertung anführte. David Abgrall stand erstmals auf dem Podium, mit konstanten Leistungen schaffte er es, seinem Gegner einiges zum Nachdenken zu geben, aber leider er war nicht schnell genug, um zu gewinnen. Nicola Recchia fand nach einem nicht gerade positiven Tag 1 das richtige Gefühl und gewann den dritten Gesamtrang. Ein Kampf um die Rangliste, der allen den Atem raubte und dem Belgier am Ende recht gab.

DAY 1

Saturday 2 of April in the Hungarian town of Tamasi, the first of the two days that make up the ELEVEIT Round 2 of the Borilli Enduro European Championship 2022 kicked off. Three special stages distributed along a 47 km long route to be repeated 4 times. The first special test faced by the drivers was the 24MX Extreme Test; a high technical test with numerous obstacles placed along its kilometre in length. Piles of logs, tires and containers characterised the track and required the participants to use all the technical skills in their possession. Mud has also increased exponentially the difficulty of the sectors, making the obstacles present extremely slippery. The Eleveit Enduro Test saw a succession of sectors within a motocross track and others located within a dense forest, narrow and muddy with artificial obstacles such as tires that helped make the track more insidious. The rains before the event also required some changes within this special test that saw its travelling time decrease. The Airoh Cross Test developed on the side of a hill and inside a motocross track allowed the riders to give full display of their speed. A quick special test with terrain that gradually dried up over the course of the day; the terrain that used to be extremely slippery increased its grip during the course of the day, which became increasingly fun.

Erik Willems is the fastest driver for the third time! ELEVEIT Round 2 is still signed by the Belgian who seems unbeatable. He concluded today with a beautiful performance, no mistakes and extremely fast times especially in the Airoh Cross Test gave him the overall victory in his hands. Dan Mundell tried everything to impose himself on the Belgian, but a technical problem with the bike took away his chance of winning. Damiaens Dietger for the first time won a podium in the absolute; after battling all day with the Englishman he narrowly won third position. A beautiful three-way clash that took place in full respect of the opponent who gave a beautiful show to the spectators again.

On Sunday, 3rd of April, the second and last day of ELEVEIT Round 2 was held, a day2 characterised by particular weather conditions, in fact, the snow that fell down in the early hours of the morning greatly complicated the event. The second day of Hungary’s Borilli Enduro European Championship 2022 took place over 3 laps; the track was shortened due to the snow that fell in the early hours of the morning and always for the same reason the last Eleveit Enduro Test was cancelled. Not only the kilometres of transfer were shortened but also the travel times of the two scheduled Time Checks. The special stages did not see any changes except for the progressive increase in the channels on the track.

A beautiful but difficult race day that saw Dietger Damiaens triumph, after placing himself on the lowest step of the podium on day 1 he led the overall chart. David Abgrall got on the absolute podium for the first time, with consistent performances he managed to give his opponent a lot of thread to wring, but he was not fast enough to win. Nicola Recchia after a not exactly positive day 1 found the right feeling and won the third overall position. A battle for the ranking that left everyone breathless and that in the end proved the Belgian driver right.
