„Es war nicht einfach, denn die Strecke ist schwierig. Aber bei solchen Bodenbedingungen fühle ich mich wohl. Nachdem ich in Führung ging, fing ich an, zu viel zu überlegen, da es schon eine Weile her war, dass ich an der Spitze lag. Dadurch bekam ich etwas harte Unterarme und musste das Tempo reduzieren. Es hat dennoch zum Laufsieg gereicht, damit bin ich sehr zufrieden. Der Laufsieg ist das Ergebnis von viel harter Arbeit in den letzten Wochen und Monaten, die das Team und ich in die Entwicklung des Motorrades gesteckt haben“, freute sich Sterry bei der Siegerehrung.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Oliver souverän
Bence Pergel (HU/HTS KTM) bewies mit dem Red Bull Holeshot seine Schnellstarter-Qualitäten, gab die Führung jedoch noch in der ersten Runde an Oriol Oliver ab. Auch Mike Gwerder (CH/WZ-Racing), der Tabellenführer und Trainingsschnellste Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) sowie Edvards Bidzans (LVA/Sixty Seven) gingen in der Startrunde am Ungarn vorbei. Oliver baute seine Führung langsam aber sicher vor seinen Teamkollegen Gwerder und Nickel aus und fuhr einen souveränen Laufsieg ein. Nickel verharrte lange Zeit in Lauerstellung, erhöhte in der zweiten Rennhälfte den Druck auf Gwerder und erkämpfte drei Runden vor Schluss den zweiten Platz. Hinter Oliver, Nickel und Gwerder fuhr Bidzans einen ungefährdeten vierten Platz vor Marnique Appelt (D/Becker Racing) ein.
„Ich hatte einen guten Start, das hat mir geholfen. Ich übernahm schnell die Führung, hatte aber dennoch etwas mit der Strecke zu kämpfen. Letztendlich hat alles gut funktioniert und ich bin glücklich über meinen Sieg und dass meine WZ-Racing-Teamkollegen das Podium vollgemacht haben“, strahlte Oliver im Ziel.
ADAC MX Junior Cup 125: Reisulis auf der Pole-Position
Im ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 ging es am Samstag lediglich um die Qualifikation für die zwei Wertungsläufe am Sonntag. Im Zeittraining fuhr der amtierende Meister Janis Martins Reisulis die schnellste Zeit und darf sich morgen als Erster den Startplatz vor Kasimir Hinderson (FIN/Motovation Motorsports) und Mads Fredsoe (DK/Sturm STC Racing) aussuchen. Der Sieg im Last Chance Rennen ging an Marius Adomaitis (LT/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek).
“It wasn’t easy because the track is difficult. But I feel comfortable with such soil conditions. After I got the lead I started thinking too much as it had been a while since I was in the lead. This made my forearms a bit hard and I had to slow down. It was still enough to win the race, so I’m very happy with that. The race victory is the result of a lot of hard work over the past few weeks and months that the team and I have put into the development of the motorcycle,” Sterry said happily at the award ceremony.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Oliver confidently
Bence Pergel (HU/HTS KTM) proved his quick starter qualities with the Red Bull Holeshot, but gave the lead to Oriol Oliver on the first lap. Mike Gwerder (CH/WZ-Racing), the championship leader and fastest in qualifying Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) and Edvards Bidzans (LVA/Sixty Seven) also passed the Hungarian on the opening lap. Slowly but surely, Oliver extended his lead in front of his teammates Gwerder and Nickel and secured a confident race victory. Nickel stayed in wait for a long time, increasing the pressure on Gwerder in the second half of the race and fighting for second place with three laps to go. Behind Oliver, Nickel and Gwerder, Bidzans finished fourth in front of Marnique Appelt (D/Becker Racing).
“I had a good start, that helped me. I quickly took the lead but still struggled a bit with the track. In the end everything went well and I’m happy about my victory and that my WZ-Racing teammates finished on the podium,‘ said a beaming Oliver at the finish.
ADAC MX Junior Cup 125: Reisulis on pole position
In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, Saturday was all about qualifying for the two races on Sunday. In qualifying, reigning champion Janis Martins Reisulis set the fastest time and will be the first to choose the starting position tomorrow ahead of Kasimir Hinderson (FIN/Motovation Motorsports) and Mads Fredsoe (DK/Sturm STC Racing). Victory in the Last Chance race went to Marius Adomaitis (LT/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek).
