The 2026 Weston Beach Race delivered its signature chaos, relentless drama, and brutal sand action during the highly anticipated Adult Solo Race. Marking the 43rd edition of this legendary British off-road event, the track crew transformed the Weston-super-Mare beach into a paradise for carnage, shaping loose, unpredictable sand dunes that tested nearly 1,000 riders simultaneously (0:12). The three-hour grueling endurance test required far more than just pure speed; success demanded smart line choices, precise traffic management, mechanical sympathy, and perfectly timed fuel stops (4:22).
The race kicked off in spectacular fashion with a massive, awe-inspiring sprint down the beach straight (7:07). However, the real mayhem unfolded immediately at the very first dune, where unprecedented early-stage traffic jams and brutal conditions caused even the world’s elite riders to struggle (8:09).
Hard Enduro world champion specialist Billy Bolt was initially the only rider seamlessly picking his way through the heavy traffic, building a massive lead on the opening lap (0:27). However, extreme congestion on lap two forced race officials to open safety gates and bypass a heavily blocked section of the track (13:59). This highly unfortunate timing plummeted Bolt from first to sixth position (15:10). Despite the setback, Bolt showcased his world-class caliber by fighting back furiously through the ranks to ultimately cross the finish line in a hard-earned second place (15:39).
Capitalizing on the track adjustment was the newly crowned six-time British Motocross Champion, Conrad Mewse (16:31). Riding his Honda, Mewse overcame a difficult first lap to seize the lead on lap two and never looked back (15:58). Setting a fierce, unmatched pace across the chopped sand, he cruised to the second Weston Beach Race victory of his career (16:52). Demonstrating sheer dominance, Mewse and Bolt were the only two riders to complete the full 21 laps on the leader card, leaving the rest of the entire field at least one lap down (19:54).
Further down the field, a dramatic battle unfolded for the final podium spot. Jack Taylor, an unseeded rider who had to run to his bike at the start and push through a crowd of over a hundred riders on the straight, mounted an incredible charge (21:24). Dropping the hammer in the final 30 minutes, Taylor hunted down Josh Gotts to secure a sensational third-place finish (13:45). Gotts settled for a commendable fourth after swapping positions multiple times (13:45). Meanwhile, Amber McGregor claimed top honors by winning the ladies‘ category (21:16). Other top contenders faced harsher fates; Shane Carless crashed out of front-running contention on lap two, and former winner Ashley Greedy had to battle from the very back of the pack to salvage a top-40 finish (12:39).
The 2026 event lived up to its brutal reputation, leaving riders exhausted but cementing its status as one of the ultimate spectacles in off-road motorsports (7:07).
