The Cape Route Rally boys heard that one of the 4×4 tracks they had been planning to use on an upcoming rally had been hammered by the recent storms — washed away so badly that apparently not even a quad bike could get through.
That was really all the encouragement they needed.
What was supposed to be a quick midweek recce with three or four vehicles quickly grew into a full Cape Route Rally convoy and a completely unplanned four-day adventure into the Tankwa and beyond.
In Episode 1 of How Hard Can It Be?, the boys leave Cape Town behind and head deep into the Karoo to see for themselves just how bad the storm damage really is.
No months of planning.
No detailed itinerary.
No idea what they’re going to find.
Just a rumour about an impassable track, a convoy of 4x4s and one simple question:
