US KTM factory rider dominates EU KTM factory riders. Canadian Trystan Hart (FMF KTM Factory Racing) impressed reigning World Champion Manuel Lettenbichler (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) on a rocky long climb. But before that, back to the beginning: With his 10th place in the prologue, Manuel Lettenbichler had a rather unfavorable starting position and had to dive into the race on the 1st day of riding from the third row of the grid. But he was surprised himself how enormously well his start had succeeded. Because he was able to grab Mitch Brightmore and advance to second place(!). He formed a duo with Trystan Hart, which was gradually able to pull away from the rest of the field. They had a relentless fight, because none of them wanted to give up even a meter. Manuel Lettenbichler was particularly surprised by Trystan’s speed over the long rocky steep ascent and could not keep up with the pace, as he said himself.
On Saturday, the 2-hour super final will take place, where the KING SLAYER Hillclimb will clear the way to the finish. However, it will only remain open for 30 minutes after the leader has passed. All other drivers who arrive outside this time window will be counted on their last position in the race.
The driving performance of Jonny Walker on his mighty 450cc triumph with an 8th place is also astonishing. After all, it went uphill for a long time through almost impenetrable woods and slippery streams, which should have been absolutely no walk in the park with a 450 thunderbolt. All the more a remarkable achievement.
