After setting the benchmark in Friday’s AKRAPOVIC Super Test with the fastest time, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia was fired up this morning to keep the pressure on his EnduroGP classmates. Winning the opening ACERBIS Cross Test and POLISPORT Extreme Test immediately set the tone for how Garcia’s day would go.

Ending lap one of three 13 seconds clear of GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona in second, Garcia was determined to keep building on that advantage as riders began lap two. Again topping the POLISPORT Extreme Test, and then winning the GMOTO Enduro Test by two seconds over Verona, the Spaniard was now 20 seconds in front and edging closer to the day’s win. Winning the final POLISPORT Extreme Test, he managed his gap in the remaining two tests to seal victory on day one in Rhayader.

Behind Garcia, Verona faced a late charge by TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon for second. After a difficult opening lap, the Frenchman made some changes to his TM MOTO and was able to bridge the gap to the Italian. Topping both the final GMOTO Enduro Test and ACERBIS Cross Test he took second by five seconds, pushing Verona reluctantly back to third.

Outside of the top three, Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson was faring well in the Welsh terrain. The Swede raced hard to secure his best result of the season with fourth. Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Samuele Bernardini completed the top five in EnduroGP on day one at the Forsiteservices GP of Wales.

Enduro1 win streak continues for Garcia

Unchallenged, Garcia raced clear for the Enduro1 class win. Persson enjoyed a solid ride to take second, with Bernardini claiming third.

Pichon and Verona raced hard for the Enduro2 win, with Pichon putting in a brilliant final lap to overhaul Verona by five seconds to take victory. Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Max Ahlin claimed his first senior class podium with third.

In Enduro3, the Sherco Racing Factory duo of Hamish Macdonald and Antoine Magain battled it out for the win. Macdonald held off his teammate Magain by two seconds to top the podium. Behind them, Julien Roussaly ensured a Sherco Racing Factory clean sweep with third.

Emotional debut victory for Rowett in Expotrade Women’s Enduro

The Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship delivered some incredibly close racing on day one in Rhayader between RIEJU Factory Team’s Rosie Rowett and Rachel Gutish, with Rowett claiming her debut victory on the world stage.

Rowett began strongly, comfortably winning the opening ACERBIS Cross Test, before Gutish responded to top both the POLISPORT Extreme Test and GMOTO Enduro Test. With Rowett holding a four-second lead as they entered lap two of three, she won all three special tests to extend her lead to 48 seconds. But mistakes on the following two tests saw that hard work undone as Gutish took control of the race lead heading into the final special test.

With an all-out attack, Rowett fought back to top the final ACERBIS Cross Test, and with it, took her debut victory in the Women’s Enduro class. Despite coming close to victory, Gutish had to settle for the runner-up result behind her teammate. Championship leader HRC Honda’s Francesca Nocera didn’t have the pace of the two leading RIEJU riders and had to be content with third. Justine Martel (Beta) and Nieve Holmes (Sherco) completed the top five.

In the Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup, Electraction TM’s Elizabeth Tett raced clear to a 10-minute margin of victory. Lorna Lafont (Sherco) took second, while Welsh youngster Delun Davies claimed her first podium result on home soil. Lea Meier (Sherco) placed fourth.

Cristino takes Junior Enduro win on day one

Day one in Wales marked a long awaited victory for Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Kevin Cristino in the Junior Enduro class. The young Italian has come close on numerous occasions this season, but today he got the job done. Securing four special test wins, he ended his day with a 15-second margin of victory.

Ox Moto Beta’s Leo Joyon is another rider on the cusp of winning in 2025, but yet to seal the deal. The Frenchman suffered a disastrous first POLISPORT Extreme Test, which he spent the day trying to overcome. Climbing back up to second, Joyon will be hoping luck will be on his side for day two.

Following four consecutive day wins, Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb saw his win streak end on day one in Wales. The Swede rode strong for third but made mistakes that he will aim to iron out tomorrow. The French pairing of Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) and Diego Hauton (Beta) battled it out to claim fourth and fifth, respectively.

Dagna edges out Elgari in battle for Youth Enduro win

The Youth Enduro saw Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Romain Dagna and TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari fight for victory on day one. There was little to separate the duo all day. Dagna claimed four special test wins to Elgari’s three, helping him to a five-second win.

There were smiles all round for Gabin Allemand (GASGAS), with the French youngster securing his first podium result of the season in third. Yago Dominguez (RIEJU) and Riccardo Pasquato (Fantic) rounded out the top five. It was a tough day for Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Pietro Scardina, who started today second overall in the championship. The Italian lost over 10 minutes on the first ACERBIS Cross Test, ending his day in 15th.

Josep Garcia (KTM): “Things started out really well. I was happy with my pace from the beginning and worked at getting the lead. I had a small crash on the second Cross Test but nothing too bad. I was able to manage my gap on the final lap to win.”

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “It was a tough start to the day, crashing many times. I wasn’t super comfortable on the bike, but together with my team we made some changes, which helped me a lot after the first lap. I kept pushing and saw I could close the gap to Andrea (Verona), so I gave it everything. It’s been a good day!”

Andrea Verona (GASGAS): “I’m not too happy with how my day ended. I began pretty well, but made some small mistakes as things went on that really cost me. I’ll check the tests this evening and try to be better for tomorrow.”

Kevin Cristino (Fantic): “Today started out great and I could find my pace. I felt good on the final three tests and was able to secure the win. I hope to continue like this tomorrow.”

Rosie Rowett (RIEJU): “I had a great lead heading into the final lap, but then made mistakes on the Extreme Test and Enduro Test and lost my advantage. Entering the final test I knew I was riding fast there and just gave it everything I had. I am super happy with the win.”
