Ein Motorradhändler stellte unseren Kollegen in den USA ein neues Bike zum Testen vor. Händler Clay Kirksey hat einen sehr analytischen Verstand und hat auch aus dieser Perspektive den Bike-Aufbau begonnen. Die 2009er Honda CRF450R war eigentlich ein sehr umstrittenes Motorrad mit einigen Problemen hinsichtlich ihrer Fahrperformance samt schwächelndem Fahrwerks-Setup. Es wurde deswegen zu Zeiten des Factory-Teams 2009 als „funny car“ bezeichnet, da es extrem kopflastig war. Der Motor geht sehr weich zu Werke, ebenso wie die Gabel und die Gesamtbalance des Bikes. Klingt nach einem großartigen Bike, mit dem man arbeiten kann. Clay hat jeden Aspekt dieses Motorrads überarbeitet und wirklich nicht gezögert massiv Geld dafür auszugeben. Mit Hilfe einiger sehr qualifizierter Leute aus der Branche transformierte Clay sein Bike vom „Funny Car“ zum echten Race-Bike.
A motorcycle dealer presented a new bike to our colleagues in the USA for testing. Dealer Clay Kirksey has a very analytical mind and started building bikes from this perspective. The 2009 Honda CRF450R was actually a very controversial motorcycle with some problems in terms of its driving performance and a weak suspension setup. That is why it was referred to as a ‚funny car‘ at the time of the Factory Team in 2009 because it was extremely „stinkbug“. The engine works very smoothly, as does the fork and the overall balance of the bike. Sounds like a great bike to work with. Clay has redesigned every aspect of this bike and really didn’t hesitate to spend massive amounts of money on it. With the help of some very qualified people from the industry, Clay transformed his bike from a ‚funny car‘ to a real race bike.
