Das ultimative Abenteuer ohne Unterstützung beginnt – Von Gympie nach Birdsville
Diesen Winter haben wir uns mit der langjährigen MXstore-Fahrerin Jemma Wilson und ihrem Vater Ted zusammengetan, als sie sich auf eine 5000 km lange Mission ohne Unterstützung von Gympie nach Broome begaben. Keine Ersatzfahrzeuge – nur drei Fahrer, die es mit dem abgelegensten und unerbittlichsten Gelände aufnehmen, das Australien zu bieten hat.
In Episode 1 beginnt die Reise in Gympie, Queensland, und nimmt eine echte Bucket-List-Route bis zur Küste von WA ins Visier. Für Jemma und Ted war diese Fahrt jahrelang in der Mache. Ursprünglich war geplant, das Problem bereits 2020 anzugehen, bevor Covid die Grenzen schloss. Da die Zeit nicht langsamer wurde und Ted immer älter wurde, wurde es zu einem Jetzt-oder-Nie-Moment, um zu fahren, Kontakte zu knüpfen und ihre Liebe zu zwei Rädern zu teilen.
Wir sprangen für die erste Etappe der Reise an Bord, um Jons (Jemmas Ehemann) Fahrrad quer durchs Land zu bringen.
The Ultimate Unsupported Adventure Begins – Gympie to Birdsville
This winter we teamed up with long-time MXstore rider Jemma Wilson and her dad, Ted, as they set off on a 5000km unsupported mission from Gympie to Broome. No backup vehicles — just three riders taking on some of the most remote and unforgiving terrain Australia has to offer.
In Episode 1, the journey kicks off in Gympie Queensland and sets its sights on a true bucket-list route all the way to the coast of WA. For Jemma and Ted, this ride has been years in the making. They originally planned to tackle it back in 2020 before Covid shut the borders. With time not slowing down and Ted only getting older, it became a now-or-never moment to ride, connect, and share their love of two wheels.
We jumped onboard for the first leg of the trip to help get Jon’s (Jemma’s husband) bike across the country.
