With Grindingstone Hard Enduro on the horizon, you can almost guarantee a big crew of us will be out there throwing ourselves at the nasty sand stone mesas. Follow along with day 1 and 2 of testing/training out there and trying to eliminate the nerves. Days 3 and 4 of everyone destroying their bikes again at Grindingstone. Our yearly pre riding ritual is honestly a blast and is good to get the mental confidence to hit the gnarly lines out there. I finally swung my leg over the 450 and got a little time on it, but it wasn’t the right fit for me. The gearing was a little too tall for my liking in the techier bits. I really liked it for the direct straight hits, but wasn’t for me at the end of the day. Prefer the ‚flickability‘ of the smaller bore and it’s still got plenty of power. Also played with the mousse setup out there. Was nice to have the communal Rabaconda setup for myself and everyone else since the sandstone destroys tires out there. I’m pretty set on running the drilled mousse setup for the race. I tried the shaved mousse across the outside, but it made the top of the tire a little too flat with a ’sharper‘ edge and I found it to be worse on some of the steep cambers.
