This 1998 Kawasaki KX500 has been built for Tommy Searle to possibly race at VMXdN Hawkstone on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Why only possibly? We’re going to run her up here and put her head-to-head against the YZ250 and KX250 we built for him in previous years to see which he prefers. I know what I’d choose to ride up the famous Hawkstone hill. Also in this episode, I finally deliver on my promise and show you the two-piece clutch cover I couldn’t stop going on about last time — and trust me, it was worth the wait. We take a stroll down memory lane with Laurence Spence, who leans back on his Team Green days. If Tommy decides not to ride her round Hawkstone… well. Someone will. That’s all I’m saying, for now! We also talk through why Pro Circuit pipes are the weapon of choice here and why it’s nothing short of a match made in heaven with the Kawasaki. And then — the moment we’ve all been waiting for — we fire the old girl up and let her roar. Turn the volume up. You’ve been warned.
